Hofsós is an easily accessible village on Iceland's north coast, approximately 356 kilometers (221 miles) from Reykjavík, and 133 kilometers (83 miles) from Akureyri. There is a good domestic airport at Sauðárkrókur, just 37 kilometers (23 miles) distant. Eagle Air operates a regular schedule between Sauðárkrókur and downtown Reykjavík four days per week. There is also a regularly scheduled bus between the airport at Sauðárkrókur and Hofsós.
